Establish disaster adjustment and recovery capabilities in schools, cultivate DRRE talents.
To build stronger disaster resilient schools, MOE established 3,015 Disaster Resilient Schools, including 28 special education schools. Also, Disaster Resilient School operation indicators and mechanisms have been designed, and 100 Disaster Resilient Schools have been assessed. For kindergartens, the self-management in safety and disaster prevention mechanisms and fire response courses and mechanisms have been developed and tried out. Moreover, obligation of schools has been analyzed for building a mechanism for disaster management responsibility sharing. To enhance the disaster awareness and knowledge of school personnel, scenarios and countermeasures against fires and earthquakes have been developed, and there are 199 disaster training courses have been planned and held. The approaches to optimize DRR teaching materials include planning 5 DRRE study tours, developing teaching material packages, designing DRRE campus posters, collecting excellent DRRE teaching plans and promotion results, and releasing electronic publications. Last, the mechanism of collaboration and operation among schools, industries, and governmental agencies have been developed, overseas training programs.
